How do the batteries of electric vehicles work?

Electric vehicles are most often composed of several accumulators connected in serial. A traction battery operated by an electric vehicle stores and redistributes electricity depending on the driver’s use of the accelerator and brake pedals.

Charging
times:

“Fast” charge at service station: 30 min.
“Semi-fast” charge in company: 1.5 h
“Normal” charge at charging point: 4 to 6 h.
Charge via home socket: 8 to 10 h

Good to know: after about 50% of the charging time, the battery has already reached 80% of its charge capacity!

Charging points
network

Average range of vehicles is 150 to 400 km in NEDC cycle, i.e. about 100 to 300 real kilometers, which should be enough for most of the daily trips.

The charging points network is continuously expanding for long-distance trips.
